Protocol to Process Series
Would you like to:
- Prolong your life as a doctor, therapist or body worker?
- Manage the stress of a busy profession that involves helping others recover and prevent illness/injury
- Learn ways to work with patients/client whom do not respond to established protocols
- Clarify your observation skills, enhance precision in touch, and create session plans that truly fit the person and their issues instead of wandering around in the dark or following a cookie cutter approach
- Receive continuing education credits
Finally! A systematic way to use the intelligence of the Feldenkrais Method, Bones for Life, traditional therapies and solid anatomical understanding in your work with patients/clients.
From the world of traditional medical therapists, one of the most common things we hear is, “If I had the time and money to do another training, it would be the Feldenkrais Method.” Perhaps that isn’t happening for you right now or maybe ever. However, we have put together a program that allows physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, Feldenkrais practitioners, chiropractors, massage therapists, other body workers and even
psychotherapists to learn side-by-side and hone their skills in areas previous explored very little.
From Feldenkrais Practitioners, we often hear that while they have the quality of touch, observation and a method of exploring they feel lacking in their ability to create lessons plans with specificity to the students desired outcomes.
In our Protocol to Process series, we will work with all these issues from a systems point of view. You can check our calendar for workshops already scheduled. You can also sponsor one of our workshops in your organization or area. Just contact us about the possibilities.

Working with the Gait
Improvement in the gait is one of the most basic of skill sets needed by movement educators and therapists on a regular basis. Offered in a 1, 2 or 3 day format, this advanced training uses Bones for Life processes, Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement lessons along with demonstrations, hands-on practice/techniques, and anatomical and systems lectures to restore the gait to a nature rhythm. Because gait involves being upright in gravity with a continuous interchange between losing balance and regaining it, a systems approach is particularly important. Breath, eyes, C7, low back, hips, ankles and ribs all come to bear and must be incorporated to help people not simply walk but walk with ease.
Applications will be appropriate for those with more minor gait issues to those recovering from a stroke as the days of the workshop advance.

The Thoracic Spine: The Bridge to Lumbar and Cervical Health
This 1-day workshop will map out the often ignored, but vital, thoracic spine. This area of the body, rich with connections to the sternum, head, sacrum, and ribs is key to freedom in the neck and low back. The emotional components of a supple rib cage and its contribution to the rest of the spine will be explored in Bones for Life processes and Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement lessons. There will be hands-on explorations and applications along with lectures and demonstrations. Positional Release Techniques will also be used.
For personal health, this workshop is highly recommended for Surgeons and Dentists and others who perform repeated procedures in the same asymmetrical position. It is also valuable for those who jobs are primarily composed of sitting and listening hour-after-hour, such as psychotherapists.
